My son asked me to draw a digger
My daughter asked for a unicorn
Boys love all things concrete, 
and concrete.
Real, reliable, strong, dependable
Strength you can touch
Like the wheels on a dump truck
And depend upon
Like Spider-Man's webs
Us girls are still chasing magic
And the elusive beauty
of all we cannot fully see
Like unicorns and fairies
Their flight and whimsy
Bringing hope to our dreams
And the possibility of a future
More sweet
Than concrete.
