Little glass jars.

There is a little glass jar
That sits solid and still
In my little rock heart,
On a DIY shelf I built.

I take each of those nice words
You took the time to write
And fold it up too small to see
Placing it inside, safe and tight,

My little glass jar
On my little heart shelf.

There are other things
Which try to seep in
Try to creep in, try to bleed through
Those not-so-nice thoughts
Those not-so-nice words
Which want to knock down

My little glass jar
On my little heart shelf.

And though it has almost broken
A time or two
It is still there, bandaged and bruised,
Holding firm and true

My little glass jar
On my little heart shelf.

Each time I have a thought to share
A comment to make
My bruises remind me of how I can be kind
So I dare not to break

Your little glass jar
On your little heart shelf.
