Or crumbling to defeat
The difference
between
Staying the course 
and relenting
Powerless
to fear of change.

Do we stay the course 
when the road inclines
grows rough
beneath our feet
Or turn back
looking for a lighter course
one that does not 
ask for resilience 
Or Challenge us,
demand that we grow.

Steadfast - 
Not an enticing word
Staying the course
Not oft observed
But we dare to wander 
the narrow path 
a step at a time
Even if, from the outside, 
It appears we walk alone.
